Ljubljana signs pledge to gender equality, work-life balance and equal opportunities
Ljubljana signed a strong pledge to gender equality, work-life balance and equal opportunities. This is the third pledge from Ljubljana reaffirming the city's commitment to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights, after the first two pledges in 2018 and 2019 to improve access to healthcare, housing and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The European Commission has opened a broad public consultation on the future of social Europe. The consultation will gather ideas and recommendations for new policy actions or legal initiatives needed on different levels (EU, national, regional and local) to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights.

Vienna adopts ambitious strategy for children and youth
Vienna's first children and youth strategy was adopted on 28 May 2020. The strategy aims to make Vienna the most child and youth-friendly city. Among other things, it will anchor a children's and youth budget of 1 million EUR for 2021 as well as a children's and youth parliament.
